Join us at our Asian Pacific American Day at the State Capitol one May 2

CAGD on behalf of MAPAAC and APIA Vote – Michigan cordially invite CAGD members to join us at our APA Day at the Capitol on May 2,  9 AM – 3 PM in Lansing State Capitol.

We need the support and participation of all APAs to show the State legislators that the APA communities in Michigan are strong and have a single, united voice!  We urge you to make your presence known during APA Day at the Capitol and to do your part to raise APA awareness during Asian Pacific American Heritage Month!

The activities of the day include:

•            Personal visits with the Legislators in their offices to address the concerns of the APA community, coordinated by APIA Vote-Michigan

•            Recognition in the House and Senate galleries during their sessions

•            Celebration of APA Heritage Day in the Capitol rotunda. Governor Snyder and Lt. Governor Calley invited.  Presentations by Senator Hopgood and Representative Chang, Remarks for APA Dreamers and Pacific Islanders performances.

•            Casual lunch at the Speakers’ Library at the Capitol.

MAPAAC and APIA Vote – Michigan will charter buses for transporting you and your guests to and from the Lansing, but we need to know how many people from your organization will be attending.  Also, the Senate and House would like to have the names and the organization affiliation, so they may acknowledge you at their session.
