The AOA is a key document that determines a company’s business scope, registered capital, governance structure, and decision-making process. It also defines the roles and responsibilities of key corporate positions.
Drawing on fieldwork and case studies in Singapore and Malaysia, this article explores how the rise of China is impacting CVAs in Southeast Asia. It examines how these organizations are repositioning themselves for new domestic and transnational engagements.
Membership
The CSA is a socially oriented society where students of Chinese descent can come together and help each other with their integration into the local culture. It is also a forum for networking, learning, growing and gaining valuable leadership skills that are good for future career plans.
Those who choose to join this society tend to become more involved and often develop friendships that last long after leaving the university. Aside from that, it is a great way to build a resume through hosting unity events and activities.
It is also a place where the Chinese community can gather and support important issues that affect all of them. For example, when the 2004 tsunami and earthquake hit the Indian Ocean, CCBA worked with mainstream organizations to provide relief. They also helped Chinese Americans apply for their U.S citizenship and to vote in elections. They also assisted immigrants in starting their own business and have worked to improve the quality of life for all citizens in Chinatown.
Sponsorships
CSA’s main focus is on building a bridge between Chinese students and the campus community. To accomplish this, they sponsor events like cultural shows and interview workshops. They also organize career fairs and help members find jobs. Additionally, they provide a forum for CSA members to express their views and opinions about current affairs.
Besides the above, CSA sponsors national events for their society members to attend. They also provide assistance in gaining American citizenship, helping students to apply for jobs, and registering as voters. Additionally, they are active in donating to mainstream organizations, such as the Visiting Nurse Service of New York and the American Red Cross.
Sponsoring a CSA is a great way to support the community and enhance your company’s profile among Chinese business leaders. You can also get access to exclusive events and thought leadership through our quarterly magazine. Contact us to learn more.
