The Association strives to bring together a diverse community and provide a platform for discussion. It is dedicated to promoting exchanges and friendly cooperation between different civilizations, safeguarding world peace and empowering the building of a common future for mankind.
Like a constitution, the Articles of Association define the framework within which a company operates. Regular amendments ensure the documents are in line with changing legal standards and a company’s evolving strategic goals.
The Chinese Medical Association
The Chinese Medical Association is an important national academic organization, which has a long history of serving the public through promoting medicine and providing health care. Its members are dedicated to advancing science, reducing diseases and improving life expectancy. In addition to its domestic activities, CMA also organizes international conferences and meetings. The Chinese Medical Journal (CMJ) is one of the most influential scientific journals in China. It is published semi-monthly and has strong exchange relationships with many world-renowned databases, including SCOPE, BIOSIS and EMBASE.
The Chinese American Medical Society of Southern California (CAMASC) was formed in 1963. It is a non-profit, professional membership association and has hundreds of physician members. Among its goals are to improve the health of Chinese in North America and promote Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities for physicians. In addition, it works to build relationships with other Asian societies and associations. Its members are doctors of Chinese descent who have graduated from accredited medical schools.
The China Association of International Trade
The China Association of International Trade (CAFIU) is an institution specializing in foreign trade research and analysis. It offers services such as foreign market research, analysis of economic and trade policies in dozens of countries, and support for Chinese NGOs to conduct activities in other nations.
CAFIU has been at the forefront of promoting cooperation between different civilizations, and safeguarding world peace. It has established ties and exchanges with associations, political organizations and research institutes in dozens of countries, and keeps contact with some well-known international organizations.
It has also worked to alert the British Government to the difficult circumstances under which many British firms operated in China, and lobbied for official action to protect their interests and meet their demands. In the US, the CCBA has worked to encourage qualified Chinese American citizens to vote in elections and to raise funds for disaster relief efforts. It also has a membership program to promote international business opportunities for its members.
The Chinese Student Association
CSA provides students with a social platform for cultural exchange. It also helps members in their school life and career development. It organizes events including interviews workshops, Life in Big Four, Networking, and Western dating. Besides, it also promotes Chinese culture by holding an annual Culture Show.
In addition, it has ties and exchanges with associations, political organizations and research institutes of dozens of countries. It works on the missions of promoting understanding and cooperation between different civilizations, safeguarding world peace, fostering international development and poverty alleviation, and improving people-to-people relations.
CCBA aims to strengthen ties within the Chinese community, respect and honor ancestors, advance educational opportunities, advocate for social justice, and preserve and promote traditional Chinese culture. It hosts various programs to serve local communities and the wider Portland region. The organization is a shared resource for all Chinese citizens in Oregon and beyond. It has more than 1000 members in the Portland metro area.
The Chinese Business Association
DCBA, comprised of a pool of talented and dedicated staff, offers its members a wealth of services including business attraction, logistics consulting, HR service, language translation, IT solution, and more. The Association has received a plethora of positive news and media attention, including coverage on CCTV (China), CBC (Canada), NHK (Japan) and Monocle (London).
Historically, Chinatowns were home to community associations that performed many of the functions government agencies and charities would have done: finding jobs for new arrivals, taking care of the sick and poor, and even arranging for bones to be sent back to China for interment. These district associations were sometimes led by people who went on to become well-known in the wider community.
The CCBA’s mission is to serve its community through social activism, education and cultural events. The Association has also played a crucial role in assisting people with the naturalization process and encouraging Chinese American voters to vote in U.S. elections.
