The Chinese Association is a non-profit social organization dedicated to promoting cultural diversity, enrichment and understanding. It provides a social platform for Chinese and non-Chinese students to communicate, assist each other and to enrich their student experience at Purdue University.
China is a complex society with different levels of development, ethnic groups, a diverse population and different geographic, natural resource endowments. There are also a wide range of political beliefs and interests.
Mission Statement
The mission of the CHINESE ASSOCIATION is to promote and foster awareness, understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture and diversity through participation, education and advocacy. It is a non-profit, community-based and member-focused organization that has been serving the needs of its members and the local Chinese community since 1965.
The Brooklyn Chinese-American Association is a not-for-profit, social services agency that serves the Asian-American population in the Sunset Park, Borough Park and Bay Ridge sections of Brooklyn. BCA strives to serve the unique and diverse needs of the community by addressing and responding to social concerns, providing a safe and caring environment and acting as a liaison with government and private agencies to develop a mutually beneficial relationship between the Asian-American community and its neighborhood.
iGCU aims to build a new interdisciplinary research system, provide intellectual support for people-to-people exchange and joint development in global governance, scientific and technological innovation and human resources, establish a platform for international cooperation and promote practical collaboration among friendly countries.
Vision Statement
CHINESE ASSOCIATION’s vision is to be a national and professional non-profit social organization which is committed to the promotion of quality management and innovation. Since its establishment, CAQ has been putting in effort into various work, including the popularization of knowledge, skills and methods on quality management, the promotion of Total Quality Management, the publicity and implementation of Quality Management System standards, the promotion of Performance Excellence Model, etc.
In addition, CAQ has also been working to establish quality associations in different regions, sectors and industries across China, forming a national system of quality associations. In terms of the newest technology, CAQ has launched an interactive online platform with the aim of promoting quality culture in the Chinese enterprise community. Lastly, CAQ has been promoting the use of quality tools such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and mobile phone applications to promote efficiency and development. We will continue to strive towards our mission of being a national and professional non-profit social enterprise which is committed to the promotion of quality management, and in so doing make an important contribution to the economic and social development of China.
Goals
CHINESE ASSOCIATION aims to provide learning opportunities for youth and adults to nurture and sustain their social, mental, and spiritual well-being. It also aims to promote the study and application of Chinese culture in the community.
Our first Goal is to establish and strengthen quality Chinese language programs in schools, institutions of higher education, and professional organizations. We will support and help develop articulated curricula, pedagogy, materials, and assessment tools that reflect students’ needs and career goals.
Second, we will make a series of coordinated efforts to promote the right course of economic globalization. We will advocate free trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, promote a balanced approach to economic development, advance regional and multilateral cooperation, and boost international macroeconomic policy coordination.
In addition, we will promote major-country relations featuring peaceful coexistence and overall stability. Acting on the principles of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit, and inclusiveness, we will enhance friendly ties, mutual trust, and convergence of interests with other countries.
Activities
The CHINESE ASSOCIATION strives to bring people together through social activities and the exchange of ideas, and to promote, preserve, and impart Chinese culture and tradition. The organization’s programs and services provide educational, recreational, cultural, health and career-building opportunities for members of all ages to promote their social, mental and spiritual well-being.
The Association is an affiliate of the national organization, the Organization of Chinese Americans (ACA), and provides leadership to ACA’s chapters in Greater Washington, St. Louis, and Baltimore.
ACA was founded in 1971 with the intent of creating a national organization to serve the interests of Chinese American community. ACA has a strong commitment to promoting Asian-Americans, ensuring their social, economic and political well-being, and fostering a sense of community among all ethnic groups.
In 1988, the Association conceived of a new vision for Sunset Park, Brooklyn. The result was a Lunar New Year parade that put the area on the map. In the next decade, the Association’s work helped to create a “Brooklyn Chinatown.”
